Linda Howard Crabtree
Linda Howard Crabtree, 73, of Wildwood, FL, passed away peacefully at home with her family surrounding her with love at 5:24pm on February 27, 2026. Born to Sewell and Betty Howard in Rockwood, TN in 1952, Linda was raised alongside her sister, Suella Howard Newvine. In high school, she was captain of her cheerleading team and in adulthood master of the Yahtzee table. Linda lived in Murfreesboro, TN, Chicago, IL and in 2005 moved to Florida with her husband, Jerry Crabtree. She retired from Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN and took on the role of Park Manager at Rails End Motorhome and RV Resort in Wildwood, FL. Linda leaves behind her husband Jerry Crabtree; daughter Tobi (Brad) Melton; grand children Justin (Shaley) Melton, Zachary Melton (Carley), Riley Melton (Whitney), Savannah (Andrew) Crabtree Henes, Jackson Crabtree; great grandchildren, Banner Melton, Slade Melton; special niece, Liz (BJ) Albertson, who never left her side in her final days; sister-in-law Susan (Bobby) Ladd; and a host of other lifelong family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sewell and Betty Howard; sister Suella Howard Newvine, nephew Scott Albertson, brother-in-law Sonny Crabtree. A private celebration of life will be held in Rockwood, TN at a later date. Any memorial donations can be made to your local animal shelter in honor of Linda and her beloved dog Lucy, who was waiting for her across the rainbow bridge.
