Gary Wayne Simpson, 57, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on June 2, 2026, at AdventHealth Hospital in Ocala.

Gary was born on December 11, 1968, in Montclair, New Jersey, to David and Anna Simpson. For the past 14 years, he worked as a city transit bus operator for SunTran, a career he truly loved. Gary enjoyed getting to know his passengers and took pride in helping others, always dedicating himself to doing what was right for those he served.

Gary treasured time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, sharing jokes, and making people laugh. His warm personality, sense of humor, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan Simpson; his mother, Anna Simpson; his sister, Karen, and brother-in-law, Blaine; his nephew, Michael; his stepson, Eric, and wife, Renee; his niece, Devin; his sister-in-law, Andrea; his uncle, Chuck; and his aunt, Belinda.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, David Simpson, and his brother, Gregory Simpson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at 5221 Pecan Road, Ocala, Florida 34472. A reception will follow from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Golf Country Club, 6333 Silver Road, Ocala, Florida 34472.
