Timothy Edward Hunt

It is with deep sadness and love that we share the passing of Timothy Edward Hunt on Tuesday, May 27, 2026 in Ocala, Florida.

After graduating school, Tim served in the US Army and then became a Career Firefighter and Paramedic, dedicating his life to serving the Middletown Fire Department with pride.

During this time, Tim was appointed by the Governor as HarborMaster for the State of Connecticut in Middletown, and served through many gubernatorial administrations. This was a position that Tim loved and often commented that it was one of the hardest aspects of leaving Middletown.

After retiring to Florida, Tim served as a member of the Interlachen Fraternal Order of Eagles as a Trustee and President for over 10 years, enjoying his role in this small community. He also loved creating through his wood working and showing these projects to visitors, his favorite being his canes made from Crepe Myrtle trees.

Tim's quick witt and timely sarcasm along with his endless love of the Boston Redsox will always be remembered. Tim will be missed by his family and friends who he touched with his thoughtfulness.

Tim was a devoted husband and soulmate to Ruth Hunt. Born to Edward and Jean Hunt, Tim is survived by his brother Richard Hunt, sisters Linda Wilson and Trisha Hunt, Daughter Cassie Hunt, as well as his step-daughters and grandchildren. Tim was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer Hunt.
