Tommie Vester Merchant

Tommie Vester Merchant, 69 of Ocala, FL passed away on April 27, 2023 in Ocala, FL.

Tommie was born in Camp Stewart, GA to Yvonne Holton and Lonnie Vester Merchant on May 23, 1953. He graduated from Dunnellon High School on June 2, 1972. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Ocala Community College. He worked as a service technician for Centurylink for 40 years and retired in 2018.

He enjoyed watching football and movies. He loved working in his yard and on the pool so his grandkids could enjoy them. His grandkids were a great joy to him and he loved hugs and giggles from them. He is survived by his wife, Denise Russ Merchant, his children, Joseph Merchant, Gary McDonald, Krysti Merchant, Tommie V.P. Merchant and Stepsons, Phillip Eben, Michael Eben and Mark Eben II; siblings, Candy Prescott, Raymond Prescott, Penny Lindsey, Dianne Merchant, Debbie Woodard and Ronnie Merchant and grandchildren, Ariana Merchant, Logan Medina, Emma Shockley, Hayden Shockley, Gage Sanders, Samantha Eben, Wyatt Eben, Layla Eben and Ellie McDonald. He is predeceased by his mother
Yvonne Merchant, father Lonnie Merchant, Brother Lonnie Merchant and son Cory Merchant.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 20, 2023 @ 11 am at Ocala Springs Baptist Church, 5000 NE 36th Ave. Rd. Ocala, FL 34479.
