Sean Richard Bockius

November 15, 1978 » November 9, 2020

Sean Richard Bockius, Sr, age 41, entered eternal rest on November 9, 2020 at his residence in Ocala, Florida. Born on November 15, 1978 in Dover, New Jersey to the late Charlene M. Kicinski, raised by John A. Kicinski (Waterbury, CT), Sean spent most of his life in New Haven (Woodbridge), CT. His easygoing manner endeared him to both friends and strangers alike. His loyalty was second to none, never backing down from a fight and always standing up for those he loved. A child of the 1980s, he was fed a steady diet of MTV videos and WWF. He was obsessed over his beloved Chicago Bulls, San Francisco 49ers, and Air Jordan sneakers. As a child, he was a huge fan of Karate Kid, and spent his savings on a VHS copy before his family owned a VCR. When given the opportunity he enjoyed playing video games with his brother and spending time with his family. He loved watching Jeopardy and attempting to correctly answer all the questions before the contestants. Growing up he loved to watch with his mother and grandmother and strived to be able to answer quicker than them. He often found he was not fast enough and when he was, his answers were wrong. He told this story with extreme pride in his eyes, recalling the fact that his mother was almost never wrong. He was extremely intelligent, often too smart for his own good. Sean’s distinct humor diffused many a tense situation. He always found the humor in every moment, often being the one to make you smile and turn your day around. Sean was a good man, a complicated man, in his best of times there was no one else you would have rather had by your side. Sean leaves behind four children, Lena Belle Carchia (Greensboro, NC), Jordan Shane Brotherton (West Haven, CT), Sean Richard Bockius, Jr (Greensboro, NC), and Ivory Rain Bockius (St. Augustine, FL), whom he loved more than anything in life. He is also survived by his siblings, Scott Bockius (Milford, CT), Lauren Kicinski (Waterbury, CT), Erik Kicinski (Milford, CT), Veronica Gagne (Thomaston, CT), and Michael Rosazza (CO), Longtime friends he viewed as sisters, Brandy Long (New Haven, CT) and Kira Lopez (New Haven, CT). Aunts, Helen Miazga and Barbara Ziontz (CA) and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by Uncles, John, and Richard Markevicz and Grandparents, Walter, and Dorothy (Heaney) Markevicz. The family would like to extend our gratitude to Coast to Coast Cremations for their compassionate handling of our loved one. Due to current climate and concerns, no services will be held at this time. A future memorial service will be planned and arranged by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Rage Against Addiction: www.rageagainstaddiction.org.
