Ida Marie Hammond

Ida Marie Hammond of Leesburg, Florida, entered Into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 11th 2025.

Ida was born June 5, 1949, in Alblon, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence M. (Mike) Hammond and Helen (Decker) Hammond, both lifetime residents of Albion, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother James M. (Jim) Hammond and a half sister Shirley Allen.

Ida retired from the State of Florida Department of Transportation in 2008 with 35 years of service. After retiring from the State of Florida, she worked briefly for Home Instead Senior Care and for four years with a roofing company until fully retiring in 2013.

Ida was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Leesburg, FL, from January, 1985, until her death, where she loved working with children and ladies, sharing her love of her Savior through Bible teaching.

Ida is survived by her daughter Heidi Walls, her grandchildren Autumn (Jacob)Tremblay, Jenna Walls, and Hunter Walls, her great grandchildren Keagan Wright and Hermyonie Tremblay, a cousin Ruth Ann Potter, and a cousin Eleanor Morse. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a very important part of her life, and she had many fond memories of the adventures they enjoyed together.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held August 16 2025 at Grace Bible Baptist Church. 1703 Lewis Road, Leesburg, FL 34748. 10:30 am visitation and an 11am service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, Ida requested that memorial donations be made to the Missions Program at Grace Bible Baptist Church. Ida also requested cheerful and bright colors to be worn at the celebration of life service.
