David “Scott” Hutchens, of Sparr, Florida, age 72, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021 surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with liver disease. He was born September 27, 1949 in Highpoint, NC. His memory will live on through his family and friends. He was a Husband, Father, Brother, P-Paw, and friend.
At a young age, Scott had a passion for science and later went on to win the International Science Fair. Scott had a great love for dogs and would breed German Shepherds and then later Standard Poodles. He spent many weekends over the years at dog shows with his favorite “kids” Dusty, Shadow, and Sinatra.
As an adult, he graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He began his own company, Scott & Associates, where he sold various products to supermarkets. It was at a corporate supermarket office visit that he met the love of his life, Marilyn. They spent 35 years together enjoying scuba diving, traveling, finding new restaurants to try and raising their two daughters.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marilyn Hutchens; his children: Nicole Woody (John), Elizabeth Krugh (Jon); his grandchildren: Allie Woody, Duncan Woody, and Henry Krugh; his sister, Robyn Freeman; and his brothers: Scott Reed Hutchens, Robert Hutchens, Thomas Hutchens and Michael Freeman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L Hutchens and Beverly J Freeman.
