Bruce Melvin Bunting

Bruce Melvin Bunting, 79, died August 12, 2022 in Ocala. He was born February 17, 1943 in Brooksville, FL to Zeda (Noble) and Norman Bunting. A fifth generation Floridian, he graduated from Hernando High School and moved to Ocala in 1964. He was an avid collector of local Native American artifacts and loved hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He and a friend were the first to bow hunt tilapia in the county, now a popular local sport.

He was employed for over 40 years by Maris Distributing Company, a distributor for Anheuser Busch. He loved his family and is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth “Kathy” Bunting, their children Beverly (Al) Lewis, Pamela (Scott) Howard and Robert Bunting (Susan), a brother Norman Bunting, sisters Suzanne Bunting, and Barbara Whitmer, grandchildren Ashley Aleman, Dylan Curran and Nathan Lewis and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson Ethan Lewis.

In accordance with his wishes services will be private. In remembrance contributions may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation or Hospice of Marion Country
