Bonnie Lorraine Johnson gained her angel wings on January 20, 2023
surrounded by those that loved her, after her battle with cancer. Born on
May 25, 1947, Bonnie spent 75 wonderful years spreading joy to any and all
around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent
taking care of her family, friends, and community.
Bonnie is survived by her siblings; James Sconnely (Merle), Sally Reitmeyer,
Kathy Argetsinger (Carl) and Helene Vanderslice, her children; Patricia and
Becky, her grandchildren; Krysta, Amy, Michael, Kasi and Hannah and her
seven great grandchildren; Kori, Kylea, Kinsley, Killian, Vera, Ruth, and
Clara, as well as countless other family members and friends.
Not a day went by where Bonnie didn’t talk about how much her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant to her — Family was
inarguably her most important achievement in life. Those that loved her will
continue to remember her willingness to give, strength and stubbornness.
Bonnie was a Mother, Grandmother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She
cherished every one of those roles throughout her life. After 30 years, she
retired from the phone company, went on to survive the unsurvivable and
remained with us for another 20 years. She volunteered at Habitat for
Humanity and went on to then become employed with them through her
retirement years.
For those of us left behind, we will never let the memory of Bonnie fade. Her
role in each of our lives is deep rooted in recipes, teachings and memories
that will continue through many generations. Our lives will always have a
space of emptiness without her. Bonnie’s love will continue to warm our
hearts and souls.
