Walter J. Aldridge

May 3, 1941 » April 9, 2025

Walter Jackson Aldridge, 83, of Morriston, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning surrounded by loved ones. Born in Hoboken, Georgia, Walter lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work, deep devotion to family, and a steadfast love that left an unforgettable legacy.

He dedicated many years of his life as a journeyman lineman before transitioning into the trucking industry, where he found his true calling hauling heavy equipment for Ring Power CAT. He proudly served the company for 28 years with unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic.

But above all else, Walter was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Judy Aldridge. Married for 58 beautiful years, their relationship was a shining example of enduring love, mutual respect, and a lifetime of shared memories. He loved Judy unconditionally and would have moved mountains to make her smile. Their bond was unbreakable—a true love story that stood the test of time.

Walter was also a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Family was the heart of his world, and he found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. Whether it was fishing, gardening, gathering for family meals, or taking trips to the mountains, Walter cherished every shared moment. He was a step-in father to many, and a second father to numerous nieces and nephews—always ready with a listening ear, heartfelt advice, or simply a comforting presence. Walter was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed, offering his time, strength, and support to anyone who crossed his path. One of his most treasured pastimes was being out on the water with his grandson, Lowrance Aldridge, enjoying peaceful days aboard the pontoon boat they got together—a lasting symbol of their special bond and shared love for the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Aldridge, and his beloved daughter, Cynthia Slater and his grandson Shawn Aldridge. He was also predeceased by seven siblings: Larry Aldridge, Roy Aldridge, James Aldridge, Charlie Aldridge, Terrell Aldridge, Aubrey Aldridge, and his dear sister, Lautrell Melton.

He is lovingly survived by his five children: John Aldridge (Tina), Karen Watts, Allen Aldridge, Mary Thompson (Charlie), and Samantha Aldridge. His legacy also lives on through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His memory will forever be a guiding light to his family and friends, who will continue to honor his life with the same kindness, loyalty, and spirit he showed every day.

We warmly invite all who knew and loved him to join us in honoring his memory.
