Susan Claire Ewers

July 6, 1947 » April 12, 2024

Susan Claire Ewers (nee Toskar), passed away peacefully on April 12th, 2024, at HCA Ocala Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Susan was born July 6th, 1947 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Charlotte Toskar (nee Ornstein) and Sol Toskar. Susan graduated Valedictorian of Miami Norland Senior High School in 1965. Susan married her sweetheart Gary Ewers in the same year. They were married for 59 years until the date of her death – a testament to the love they shared for so very long. She gave birth to two daughters – Lisa Ewers (born 1966) and Kim Pariso (nee) (born 1970) and lived together with her family throughout Florida for the remainder of her days. She is survived by her two daughters – as well as three grandchildren – Amanda Pariso (born 1990), Allen Pariso (born 1993), and Erin Berk (nee Pariso) (born 1998). She is also survived by her brothers Daniel and Stephen Toskar. She was expecting her great-grandson, Henry Berk.

Susan was lauded as a woman, mother, and friend. Throughout her long and prosperous life, she was often praised for her ability to bring smiles and cheer to the people around her. Her sense of familial bonds and desire to bring people together carries a lasting impact on those who carry on long after her ascent into Heaven. Hosting many holidays for her growing family – she brought laughter to people of all ages around a shared table – sharing her exemplary home cooking with many hungry mouths waiting expectantly. Her family remembers her for her rough yet sincere sense of humor that made hearts flutter and sides ache. Her holiday and greeting cards every year were made custom for her family with thought and care. Growing up around food and the kitchen – her recipes were talked about all across her family – and a piece of her is carried on in each dish that is made in her honor.

As time went on – Susan dedicated her life selflessly to helping those around her. In no capacity whatsoever did she have ulterior motives, and she dedicated herself to those who needed her in every way she could. She gave herself wholly to raising her two daughters into women, gave herself to mentoring and raising her three grandchildren, and gave herself as a wife to her beloved husband. Susan’s selflessness extended beyond her family – to the animals that she raised, and those who came to her in need – down to the roses in her garden that she tended with love and care.

Susan will be welcomed into the Gates of Heaven and stand before God as a beacon of her Faith and Humanity. As she gains her wings and joins the angels – her impact will last generations to come on Earth – and she is greeted by the Lord and her Family above with open arms.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”  Proverbs 31:26
