Ruth Dolores (Tootie) Lawrence, 93, of Ocala, FL & Star Lake, NY, passed away on May 6, 2026 in Ocala, FL at The Cates House.

Ruth Dolores was born in Star Lake, NY to Dave & Edith Maxwell on October 21, 1932. She attended Oswegatchie High School and graduated in 1950. Ruth married Charles (Chuck) Lawrence in June 1955. Over the years, Ruth worked at Newton Falls Paper Mill, Salvatore Capone Dentistry and ended with Syracuse Label in 1993. She enjoyed a multitude of activities and crafts thru the years, but knitting and crocheting were her favorites.

Ruth Dolores is survived by her daughter, Deborah Herrel of Gulf Breeze, FL, her son, Jeff Lawrence & wife Kelly of Lebanon, TN, her son, Jay Lawrence & wife Debbra of Star Lake, NY, 2 granddaughters, Morgan Patnode & husband Carson of Harrisville, NY & Madelyn Lawrence & partner Tyler Morse of Harrisville, NY and 2 great grandchildren, Reese & Lewis Patnode of Harrisville, NY. Siblings – sister, Judy Cote (Leonard) of Ocala, FL, sister, Patricia Towne & husband Roscoe of Lakeland, FL, sister-in-law, Rose (Robert) Maxwell of Lakeland, FL and sister-in-law, Karen (David) Maxwell of Sparta, TN along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and neighbors in OTOW.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Lawrence, her parents, Dave & Edith Maxwell, her brothers Robert Maxwell (Rose) , Fredrick Maxwell (Rosealyn) and David Maxwell (Karen) , her brother-in-law, Leonard Cote, her sister-in-law Rosalyn Maxwell and her fur babies Bubba & Brewster.

Coast to Coast Cremations of Ocala, FL are handling arrangements.
