Russell Sledge

Russell Lee Sledge Jr., 40, of Ocala FL, went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2021. Russell “Rusty” was born on April 5, 1981, to Mary Ann Ray Sledge and Russell Lee Sledge Sr. in Ocala FL. He is the fifth of six children survived by sisters LeeAnn, Mary, Lisa and Stacy and a brother David. Russell leaves behind a loving wife Jessica Harvey Sledge and 3 wonderful children Andrew, Christian and Annabella as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved like his own.

Russell split his life between Mt. Vernon, IL and Ocala, FL. He graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in IL where he played football for the Rams. Russell drove a school bus while in IL and later became a self-employed over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys play ball. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends forever. May he rest in peace.
