Robert “Bob” Cook, age 77, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Sumterville, Florida. Born on June 12, 1948, in Nallen, West Virginia, Bob lived a full and vibrant life marked by deep faith, hard work, and a love for family and the outdoors.
Bob was the beloved husband of Herma A. Cook for 52 years—a partnership built on devotion and shared joy. Together they raised three children: their son Robert D. Cook II (Tanya Legassey) and daughters Clorinda (James Grant) and Bobbi N. Chittum. Bob was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to four beautiful babies and nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
He also leaves behind a brother Richard C. Cook and a sister Deborah L. Keener
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arley Cook and Dolly M. White Cook, as well as his sister Sandra Meadows and a nephew David Scott Meadows.
A man of many passions, Bob found his greatest peace working on his farm. The outdoors were his sanctuary—whether tending to the land or simply enjoying nature’s quiet beauty. He also had a creative spirit; he was quite an artist and especially cherished drawing with his granddaughters Amica and Semaj.
Bob’s faith was central to his life. He knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and made it his mission to share that message with everyone he met. His warm heart and infectious humor left lasting impressions—he loved to joke around and bring laughter wherever he went.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Bob will remember him as someone who worked hard and played harder until his final breath. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through kindness, laughter, and unwavering faith.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
