Julie Marie Turza

Julie Marie Turza (nee Bartkus) died at home in Ocala, FL, on July 12, 2023. She was born on July 14,
1959, to Ruth and Albert Bartkus in Chicago, IL. An avid skier, decorated equestrienne, and appreciator
of the arts, Julie was a talented painter and photographer with a keen eye for beauty in the world. After
graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in chemistry, Julie
contributed her talents to Underwriters Laboratory. After raising three children, she rejoined the
workforce at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, eager to share her love of literature with her community. She
is survived by her mother, Ruth Bartkus of New Buffalo, MI; her sister, Linda Lind of Park Ridge, IL; her
daughters, Stephanie Turza of Livermore, CA; Natalie Turza of Santa Rosa, CA; and Nicole Turza of
Seattle, WA; a niece, Mikaela Lind, and nephews Cody and Ryder Lind. A memorial service will take place
at 10am on Monday, August 14th at St. Mary of the Lake Church in New Buffalo, Michigan, followed by a
graveside service at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.
