Gregory McCann
Gregory McCann passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
He was born on May 16, 1962, and raised in Vero Beach, Florida, where he spent most of his life building a home and raising his family.
A man of strength, discipline, and conviction, Gregory was deeply committed to his role as both provider and protector.
He shared a devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Jean McCann; together, they created a home rooted in love, just shy of their 39-year wedding anniversary.
He was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Ashley McCann and Frances Hughes (Eric Hughes). He led by example through hard work, discipline, and integrity, and believed in doing things the right way—without shortcuts.
He began his career in the Florida citrus industry before transitioning into agriculture and property management, where his attention to detail and high standards earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of work, he found peace in the outdoors. An avid hunter and surfer, he was especially drawn to the mountains and wide-open spaces. Nature was where he felt most at home, and many of his happiest moments were spent exploring it.
Above all, Gregory was a family man who cherished time with his grandchildren, Emmy, Warren, and Hailey, finding great joy in being part of their lives.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean McCann; his daughters, Ashley McCann and Frances Hughes (Eric Hughes); his grandchildren, Emmy, Warren, and Hailey; his sister, Eileen Posada (Al Posada); and his brothers, Donald McCann (Laura McCann) and Mark McCann.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his strength, his principles, and his enduring love for his family. A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates your love and support during this time.
