Edward (Tres) Charles Townsend III

Edward (Tres) Charles Townsend, III, 35, of Summerville, SC passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born February 12, 1987 in Annapolis, Maryland to Edward Charles Townsend Jr. and Lissa Lane Townsend. Tres spent most of his life in Maryland before moving to South Carolina in 2015.

Tres is survived by his mother and step-father Lissa and Jerry Hostomsky and his father and step-mother, Edward and Suzie Townsend. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins with whom he enjoyed celebrating holidays and special occasions. Notably, with his cousin Benjamin Maguire, who was most like a brother to Tres.

Tres attended St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Maryland and Severna Park High School graduating in 2005. He then attended Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland and later the Golf Academy of America, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina majoring in business administration. His work history in Maryland included route sales for a Red Bull distributor where he achieved number one sales for his region. Prior to leaving for South Carolina, he held an assistant pro job at the Eisenhower Golf Course in Crownsville. He successfully passed the playing ability test during his employment at Eisenhower. Upon moving to South Carolina Tres worked for a pressure washing company prior to starting his own pressure washing business. He grew the business quickly and took pride in his excellent customer relations.

Tres was a high energy person who was always seeking new adventures. He was a low handicap golfer and an accomplished snowboarder who enjoyed the challenges of black diamond runs or flying over high jumps. Tres was very charismatic and always raised the energy level of social events he attended. During relaxed times, he enjoyed helping his family with landscaping and home improvement projects and especially cooking family meals while sharing his culinary skills at every opportunity.

Tres was a caring and compassionate son who will always be in the hearts and memories of his family and friends. A celebration of Tres’ life will be held on February 12, 2023 at the Waterfront Inn Hotel & Restaurant in The Villages, Florida, by invitation only.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions in Edward C. Townsend III (Tres) memory be made to a start-up foundation focusing on adult family crises relating to mental health.
