Delee Hannigan Joslyn

March 10, 1946 » June 24, 2020

DeLee Joslyn, age 74, went home peacefully to be with her Lord to the sounds of her favorite Irish lullaby on June 24, 2020 with family by her side in Ocala, FL. “Dee” was born in Chicago, IL on March 10, 1946 and spent her childhood there. She met her husband, Mitchell, of 33 years in Daytona Beach, Florida while working in the building next to his. Dee wore many different occupational hats until she found her true calling in home health care. She lived a life of caring and giving to others through her work by becoming a Home Health Hospice caregiver in her forties. She loved being a special part of her terminally ill patients lives. It is only fitting that in her final days Dee received that same Hospice care to aid her in her final journey to meet her beloved pets on the rainbow bridge. Dee was proud of her Irish heritage and passionate about her unwavering faith in Jesus. She loved playing her role as Grandma DD to her two grandchildren, Layne and Gage and great granddaughter, Piper. Dee was famous for making stained glass pieces and homemade cards with an amazing personal touch for her family, friends and fellow members of River Life Church in Dunnellon, FL. She was a strong and determined woman who would not succumb to the pain of her many illnesses throughout her life. DeLee lived in many different places across the United States from California to Florida and even a few years in Germany but she loved the mountains of North Carolina most of all. Dee loved spending time in the outdoors hiking, canoeing and exploring with her husband, the love of her life, Mitch and their many many dogs. DeLee’s lighthearted beautiful soul touched so many in her life through her work and her church. The world lost a dear friend but gained an angel to watch over them. Dee will be deeply missed every single day but knowing that her extreme physical pain is no more will allow all of those who were touched by her find peace in Dee’s eternal shining light. Dee will be remembered for her unconditional love, her gentle spirit, her inner strength and her vast story telling of hers and her family’s many life’s adventures. DeLee was preceded in death by her Father, Edward James Hannigan, Mother, Florence (Kratochvil) Hannigan, her Sister, Lynne (Hannigan) Karp, Brother, James Edward Hannigan and her beloved Son, Erik Daniel Lain. DeLee is survived by her loving Husband, Mitchell James Joslyn and Step-Son, Jason Lee Joslyn. Also by her Daughter, Mara Lynne Lain Leary, Son-in-law, Thomas Jefferson Leary, Granddaughter, Layne DeLee Leary, Grandson, Gage Quinlan Leary and Great Granddaughter, Piper Quinlan Leary.
