Darlene Joy Hopaluk

Darlene Joy Hopaluk, age 58, of Belleview, Florida passed away September 21, 2020.

Darlene was born October 30, 1961 to Eugene Phillip Van Horn and Eva Marion (Van Horn) Roberts in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Darlene graduated from Mt. Pocono High School in Pennsylvania and received her AS in Business Management from Rasmussen College. Darlene was employed as a licensed real estate agent for years through Reiss Real Estate in Farwell, Michigan. She had a life-long love affair with the equestrian world-from training ponies and participating in 4H to working as an exercise rider for several Thoroughbred and Arabian farms throughout Ocala, Florida in the 1980s. Her greatest joy came from breeding, training and showing champion Quarter Horses at Jac-Dar Farms in Farwell, Michigan with her late husband, Jack. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father Eugene, mother Eva, brothers Randy and Billy Dale Van Horn, and husband Jack Hopaluk.

Darlene is survived by her Bonus Father Glenn Roberts of Florida, son James Joseph Burchette of Arizona, son Cory Phillip Burchette of Michigan, daughter Stephanie Nicole Burchette of Florida, brother Eugene Phillip (Cindy) Van Horn of Pennsylvania, sister Cheryl Lynn (Mike) Williamson of Tennessee, several nieces and nephews and two grandchildren.

A private cremation has taken place with a small family memorial service to honor Darlene’s memory.
