Cheryl Lynn Ramey
Cheryl Lynn Ramey was born on October 17, 1947 to Betty and Everett Riggs in Evansville, Indiana.
She graduated F.J. Reitz High School in 1965 along with her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Robert (Bob) Ramey. They married in February 1968.
Soon after marriage they both encountered substantial medical trauma, she had closed heart surgery and he suffered paralysis on his left side. By Bob’s 21st birthday he was retired from the Navy. In December of 1972 they welcomed their daughter into the world. A child that doctors had told them would never happen. This will set into motion their entire life’s mission of overcoming and the beating all the odds.
In 1977 they decided to make the move to Ocala, Florida, where everyone comes to retire. After many rounds of golf and traveling as a family Cheryl was ready to work again and formed AVICCOM video production company in 1983. Her and Bob traveled all over the country with their travel video series, RV America. They also worked with various Christian organizations transporting food, clothing and supplies to groups in Eastern Kentucky, Virginia, North Dakota, New Mexico and Arkansas. Cheryl enjoyed being able to serve others.
They eventually settled down from traveling and video work to enjoy their homes in Princeton, Ky and Ocala. Her home in Kentucky is where you could find her fishing on their lake. She would always out catch anyone with her.
Cheryl loved life, Jesus and her family. Throughout the many years of adventure and travel she fought tirelessly to stay strong physically.
Eventually her medical issues became too much and she passed quietly in her sleep in the early morning hours of November 11th.
She is survived by her husband, sister Lynna Stewart (Charlie), her daughter Heather Yonce (Cecil), her grandchildren Rachel and Kyle DeVane as well as two great grandchildren Harper and Wyatt DeVane.
