Bernie was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 9th,1933.
He is survived by his loving wife Irene (Ginger) , his sons Brian & Neal, their spouses, Lizzie & Emer Coughlin, and twin granddaughters Emma & Meghan Coughlin.
Bernie was a devoted husband, a shining example for his sons, and adored by his granddaughters. Bernie never met a stranger and will be sadly missed by so many relatives and friends. Anyone who met Bernie would remember him by his quick Irish wit, his big smile and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.
Bernie served in the US Navy during the Korean war and was a marine engineer on the Marine Company 1 Fireboat in the New York Fire Department for 34 Years. He was a devout Catholic and a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. He was a volunteer for Brothers Keeper and a member of The Knights of Columbus.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20th @ 1:00 p.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Ocala located at 5 SE 17th Street Ocala, FL 34471.
Final interment will be at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery.
