Annette A. Amaral

Annette A. Amaral, age 53, passed away on August 29th, 2025 at her residence in Ocala, FL.

Annette worked as a pharmacy technician for the VA hospital up until 2023 and enjoyed her time in both the pharmacy and Patient Call Center – she truly found her calling at the VA. Annette had lived most of her life in Rhode Island, but for the last year was enjoying her retirement in sunny Ocala, FL where she continued to create friendships and enjoyed spending time on the beach which was her most treasured place in both RI and FL. She also enjoyed a night out on the town with good friends.

Annette is survived by her daughters Kayla Zisk (Derek Zisk) of Coventry, RI and Kirsten Mayo (Zac Connors) of Pomfret Center, CT, her two brothers; Scott Amaral and Mark Amaral, her mother Barbara Simard, her six grandchildren; Jayda, Avery, Tallon, Tyler, Olivia, and Brian, as well as nieces and nephews, and her best friend Melanie Poirier. She is predeceased by her father, John J. Amaral Jr., her maternal grandparents, “Pa” and “Bopsha”, her Uncle Leo, her paternal grandmother, “Grandma Amaral”, and one of her best friends, Linda Perron.

Annette will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, and her witty tongue.
