With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear brother, Jack Randolph Vaughan Jr, who departed from us on January 14th, 2024, at the age of 65. Affectionately known as Jack, he was born on May 13th, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Jack R. Vaughan Sr. and Linda Ann Harbison.

Jack’s formative years were spent in Fort Worth, where he attended Paschal High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1976. An avid member of the high school golf team, Jack forged lasting friendships with his teammates, showcasing the camaraderie that golf brought into his life.

Following his high school years, Jack worked for a time before embarking on a remarkable journey of service. He joined the Air Force and later the Navy, where he served as a corpsman with the United States Marine Corps aboard the USS New Jersey. His naval career concluded in 1987, marking the end of a chapter filled with dedication and honor.

Post-military service, Jack joined the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as an investigator, leading him to work and reside in various states, including the picturesque Hawaii.

A lifelong passion for golf coursed through Jack’s veins, an inheritance from his grandfathers, father, and uncle. Beyond the greens, he shared a deep bond with his father’s alma mater, Texas A&M, and was an unwavering football enthusiast. Jack’s tales of attending games at Kyle Field were a testament to his fervor for the sport.

Jack is survived by a loving family. His sisters, Loraine Vaughan Naylor of Azle, TX, Cheryl “Lisa” Krug and her husband Karl of Silver Springs, FL, and Sheila Lynn Tupker of Dallas, Texas, shared a special bond with Jack that transcended time and distance. Jack’s enduring connection with his family was also evident in his relationships with his uncle, Larry Lewis Harbison, and aunt Mary Jane Kennedy Harbison of Fort Worth, TX, as well as his aunt, Margaret Vaughan Thompson of Duncanville, Texas. These cherished family members were lifelong fixtures in Jack’s life, and he held a deep and abiding love for each one of them. In the past five years, Jack called Silver Springs, FL, home, where he passed away. He leaves behind numerous nephews and a niece, each touched by the love and humor he shared throughout his life.

Jack’s adventurous spirit extended beyond the golf course and into the rodeo arena, where he rode a few bulls in his time, even securing a large belt buckle as a testament to his prowess. He was also an active member of a motorcycle riding club in Fort Worth, where he formed many friendships and relished the joy of traveling on their bikes together.

Jack Randolph Vaughan Jr will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the joy he found in the game of golf and the passion he brought to life. May his spirit live on in the memories we cherish.
