Pamela L Gauthier

June 10, 1951 » January 20, 2024

Pamela (Lizotte) Gauthier, 72 of Springvale, Maine passed away on January 20th, 2024 in Ocala Florida following a short but hard battle with uterine cancer.

Pam was born in Sanford on June 10th 1951 to Barbara (Cobbett) Lizotte & Hervey Lizotte. She went to high school in Sanford Maine and graduated from Sanford High School in 1969. Pam spent 26 years working for the Dept of Justice where she retired from in 2014. After retirement Pam enjoyed working part time for Scarborough Downs and then for her daughters company Cruisin Infusions where she enjoyed being the “sous-chef” for weddings around the state.

Pam was married to Tom Guathier of Sanford where they built a life together. Through their 35+ years together they enjoyed snowmobiling trips through Maine & New Hampshire with friends, Their trips to Las Vegas and attending NASCAR races were just a few of the memories that she cherished. They shared a love of old cars, and antiques.

In the summer months Pam enjoyed going on motorcycle runs to support local charities with Tom. She loved the view from the back of Harley where she would capture the ride from her view. Pam and Tom spent their most recent winters being snow birds in Weirsdale, FL enjoying the Florida sun escaping the harsh Maine winters they once enjoyed snowmobiling through.

Pam grew up loving horses, always having a story of riding as a kid to the draft horses they had on the farm. One of Pams favorite pastimes through her life was showing and photographing not only the family Belgian Draft horses but the “fair family” as well. Pam loved traveling to local fairs with her family through the years. Some of her most loved friends and became family through showing all over New England. Anyone who knew her knew her dream was to have a “6 up of Chocolate Belgians”. Pam also enjoyed harness racing and owning horses with her daughter. Her favorite “brown horse” was Lucky Mac, her license plate made that clear. You would find her either along the fence with her camera or up on the roof of Scarborough Downs as a photo finish operator for years. If there was a horse show of any kind nearby you bet her and a friend were there to watch.

Pam is survived by her husband Thomas Gauthier of Springvale Maine, her daughter Katlyn Waterhouse and fiance Robert LaRochelle of Sanford, sister and brother in law Darlene (Lizotte)and Steve Irving of Sanford, sister Janet (Lizotte) Coyne of Berwick, her Grandsons Zachary Haight of South Carolina, Reilly Morin and Robbie LaRochelle of Sanford Maine, her two dearest friends Deb Collins, and Sandy Taylor along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pam was predeceeded by her father Hervey Lizotte, mother Barbara (Cobbett) Lizotte, brother Danny Lizotte, as well as numerous friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring in Sanford, Maine.

Donations may be made to Maine Children’s Cancer Program. The family would like to send a
heartfelt thank you to Pams doctors both in Maine and Florida and for the loving care she
received at Cates House Hospice in Ocala.
