Robert (Bob) E Hardy

Robert (Bob) Edson Hardy, 74, of Chiefland, Florida passed away July 24th at the Malcom Randall VA Memorial Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Bob was born on September 29th, 1945 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

He was the son of Edson and Lillian Hardy. He loved the outdoors, fishing and his family. Bob was a highly decorated Marine Corp Veteran. He served from 1964 to 1967 with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. He was a member of the 1/9 “The Walking Dead” during his courageous tour of Vietnam. He earned the Bronze Star ” v” with combat, the Purple Heart (twice), the Presidential Unit Citation and many others.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Mary Hardy, his son and daughter-in-law John and Leslie Hardy, three stepchildren, six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his parents and five siblings. He was loved by many.
