Virma M. Vélez
Virma M. Vélez, (72) of Silver Springs, Florida, passed away on March 26, 2026, in Grace Davis Hall House.
Virma was born in Mayaguez, PR, to Pedro and Isabel on April 21, 1953. After retiring at a young age, she enjoyed crocheting, painting, and playing on her iPad. She loved drinking coffee and eating all kinds of food. One of her favorite foods was lobster. In her last months, when she was at a Nursing home, she did crochet for the nurses at that place. She liked sarcasm and made jokes about it. She was a wise woman ready to advise younger generations. She was active in the church most of her life. She always put her family before herself. She loved to share past experiences with the new generations. Some of the younger generations called her mami because she was like a mother giving advice and listening to them. One of her favorite verses to share was Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Virma is survived by her brother Pedro, children Mitzy, Carlos, and Angelica, grandchildren Edwin, Alexander, Eleazar, Seth, Jaasiel, Joana, Lexa, and Zair. She is preceded in death by her grandchild, Azriel, aka Cookie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at LDM Ocala on April 11th, 2026, at 12 pm.
