Sue Catherine “Cathy” Johnson, 63, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, left this world peacefully on December 31, 2024, at her home in Ocala, Florida. She was born on October 3, 1961, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Lillian Profitt and William Turner. Cathy lived a life full of love, creativity, and meaningful connections, leaving behind cherished memories for her family and friends. Cathy was known for her vibrant spirit and her unwavering dedication to her children. She is survived by her adoring children: Burgandi Ishmael of Ocala, Florida; Ashley Lewis of Salvisa, Kentucky; and Michael Corey Johnson of Salvisa, Kentucky, and Paul Luhring. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: CoraLee Lewis of Salvisa, Kentucky; Korie Nunn and Bastian Mathias Nunn of Zanesville, Ohio; and Leighanna Woodall of Florence, Kentucky. She is also remembered by her granddaughter, Jenah Stradtner of Bowling Green, Kentucky. As the youngest of three sisters, Cathy shared a special bond with her siblings. She is preceded in death by her sister, Melissa Turner, as well as her great granddaughter, Isabella Mae McQuire. She leaves behind her brother, Felix Turner of Ohio, and her sister, Rheba Weaver, who resides in Hernando, Florida.
Cathy’s life was marked by her passion for creativity. She enjoyed making wreaths, crocheting, and engaging in various crafty projects that filled her home with beauty and warmth. Her artistic talents reflected her nurturing spirit and brought joy to those around her. Cathy pursued some college education and harnessed her love for artistry in her career as a cosmetologist in the beauty industry. She dedicated herself to making others feel beautiful, both inside and out. Her caring nature extended beyond her profession, as she was a source of comfort and support to her family and friends. In her later years, Cathy found solace in her community, where her laughter and kindness touched many lives. She was a loving matriarch, always putting her family first and finding joy in their successes. Her family will forever cherish the moments spent together, from holiday gatherings to quiet afternoons spent crafting. Cathy’s life will be celebrated in a private funeral service, honoring her wish for an intimate farewell. Her family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to those who shared in her journey, offering love and support throughout the years. In remembrance of Cathy, her honorary bearers are William Lewis, Stephan Ishmael, Shyla Battle, Sierrah Rae, and Jeremy Johnson, and Randy & Christina Olsen.
They have graciously accepted the honor of standing by her family as they commemorate her remarkable life.
