Patricia (Pat) Taylor
Patricia (Pat) Taylor, born March 13, 1938, in London, Ontario, Canada, went peacefully to meet her Lord on February 9, 2026, in The Villages, Florida.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry and Helen (Knight) Allen; her brother George; her sister Carole; and her cherished grandson, Adam.
On November 4, 1961, Pat married the love of her life, Eric “Dick” Taylor. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and adventure. Due to Dick’s work with Allied Mills, they had a nomadic life—moving from Canada to Iowa, then Vermont, Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Illinois —before finally settling in The Villages, (Lake Deaton) in 2014. Wherever Pat lived, she created not just a house, but a home. She formed deep and lasting friendships, becoming an active and devoted member of each church family.
Pat had a special love for serving children, faithfully volunteering in church nurseries over the years. Her gentle spirit and joyful heart left a lasting impression, including a mural she lovingly painted on the nursery wall of the church in Illinois—a reflection of both her talent and her generous spirit. Creativity was woven throughout her life. She expressed her artistic gifts through painting, needlework, and later rug hooking. Many family members and friends treasure the beautiful pieces she lovingly made by hand.
Pat embraced life with enthusiasm. She was an avid tennis player, a devoted gardener, and a passionate baker. Her chocolate chip cookies were legendary—warmly anticipated and eagerly devoured by grandchildren and Sunday School classes alike. In true Pat fashion, she was never afraid to experiment in the kitchen, occasionally surprising her family with some “creative” culinary inventions that became part of family lore.
A woman deeply connected to her heritage; Pat was passionate about family genealogy. She traced her family’s roots back to Virginia in the 1600s and was proud to be a member of the daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and a Florida Pioneer. She found joy in understanding the stories of those who came before her and preserving that history for generations to come.
Above all, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 64 years, Dick; her sisters: Barb, Gwen, Jackie, and Sandra; her four sons: Dean (Catherine), Scott (Connie), Kraig (Tina), and Paul (April); her nine grandchildren: Erica, Fiona, Greg, Kyle, Kelcie, Aidan, Collin, and Bryce; and her two great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Tyler. Her family was her greatest pride and deepest joy.
Her legacy of faith, creativity, warmth, and unwavering love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
