Joyce Tappen Jones Raben, 96, passed away on April 10, 2026 in Oxford, Florida. She leaves a legacy of faith, love, humor, commitment to family and friends and a quiet strength that lives on within all of us.
Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan to Curtis and Bernice Davis on March 30, 1930. She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
As a young adult, she loved being a wife and mother and was still able to devote time to family, friends and volunteering. Around 1970, she became a licensed realtor in South Florida and over the span of 36 years, created a successful career with several prominent real estate agencies. She truly enjoyed helping people realize the dream of owning their own home.
Her creative spirit and sophisticated style was evident early on in her life with hand-painting photographs, decorating multiple homes and her gift for gardening.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron Raben of Oxford, FL. Her daughters, Beverly T. Angelotti (Terry) of Ocala, FL and Paula T. Douglas (Brad) of Palm Coast, FL. Her grandchildren, Wesley Angelotti (Naomi) and Erin Angelotti (Andrew). Her great-grandchildren, Chase Angelotti (Wesley) and Crew Angelotti (Erin).
She is preceded in death by her spouses, Bill Tappen and Paul Jones. Her parents, Curtis and Bernice Davis and sister, Jackie Davis.
