John Steven Szost

John Steven Szost, 77, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Born on November 22, 1947, John lived a life grounded in love, faith, and dedication to his family.

John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Diane Szost, with whom he shared many cherished years. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Szost. He is survived by his loving children, Tina Masters, Lourie Murphy, and Heather Cox; his adored grandchildren, Chelsey Sachs, Johnathan Henderson, Zachery Vanaman, Hannah Cox, Noah Cox, Caleb Cox, and Sarah Cox; his great-grandchildren, Skylynn Sachs and Scarlett Sachs; and his siblings, Tillie Lavery, Steve Szost, Julie Miller, and Ann Szost.

John retired from a successful career in grocery sales and enjoyed a well-earned retirement filled with the things he loved most. He found joy in traveling, attending water aerobics at Too Your Health Spa, and spending time with his family. Known for his quick wit and warm personality, John had a great sense of humor—he loved to tell jokes, tease those he loved, and bring laughter into every room he entered. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, where he found strength and community.

A funeral mass celebrating John’s life will be held at Blessed Trinity Church in Ocala, Florida, on July 18 at 10:00 a.m. All who knew and loved John are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

John will be remembered for his warm heart, his love for his family, his playful spirit, and his quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories shared with those who knew him.
