Herbert Lee (Butch) Dillard, Sr, 76, of Ocala, FL, formerly of St. Albans, West Virginia,  passed away on September 24, 2024 in Summerfield, FL.
Butch was born in Chattanooga, TN to Gordon Lavoy Dillard and Kathleen Margaret Hix Dillard on November 10, 1947. He attended Ocala High School in Ocala, FL and graduated in 1965. He joined the Army and was in the 82nd Airborne , 47th Combat Engineers from 1968 – 1971.  Butch worked as a truck driver in his younger years, then became a diesel mechanic. He retired from Western Branch Diesel, Inc. in South Charleston, West Virginia after 30 years of service.
Butch loved muscle cars, especially his Plum Crazy Purple 1967 Barracuda he built himself.  He loved doing burnouts, driving fast,  being with family and friends and having large cookouts, and loved riding motorcycles and going to bike events.
Butch is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Iona (Jaye) of Ocala, FL, his children, Linda Sue Kennedy of Thomasville, GA, Mike Dillard (Laura) of Ocala, FL, Wendy Dillard (Justin) of Milton, FL, Herbert Dillard, Jr. (April) of Milton, FL, Leann Vaughan (Tim) of St. Albans, West Virginia, Tony Dillard (Valerie) of Elkview, West Virginia, J-F Markham ( Courtland) of Sandusky, OH, Christian Jones (Skylar) of Ocala, FL, Drew Dorsey of Ocala, FL and Madison Markham of Ocala, FL.  20 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with another one due in October, and a foster son, Buddy at home.  He is also survived by his sister, Diane Shields of Palm Coast, FL, and brothers, Bill Dillard of Mountain City, TN and Jackie Dillard of Emerson, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friend, Mike Lashley.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Gordon “Buddy” of Ft. White, FL, an infant sister Patricia, a grandson and a great granddaughter.
Butch wished to be cremated and no services
