Barry Sansbury, 71, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Barry was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone. His generosity, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and friends left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A legendary auto body painter in the Ocala community, Barry was widely respected for his craftsmanship, skill, and pride in his work. Whether transforming a car to perfection or helping a friend in need, he brought care and character to everything he did.

Barry found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially casting a line at his favorite fishing spot. He also had a deep appreciation for photography and loved capturing life’s beautiful moments. A lifelong fan of 70s rock and roll, his days were often accompanied by the sounds of the music he loved, full of rhythm and soul—just like him.

Those who knew Barry will also remember his sharp sarcasm, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor. He had a gift for making people laugh and never missed a chance to share a joke or tell a story in only the way he could.

Barry was deeply loved by his wife and best friend, Gayle Sansbury. Together they raised four daughters who were his pride and joy: Angela Griffis, Jodie Mahns, Wendy Sansbury, and Abbey Sansbury. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to three.

Barry’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he shared. He will be remembered always for his heart, his humor, and the strength of the bonds he built.

A celebration of Barry’s life will be held at Carlton Arms Clubhouse on 7/5/2025 at 2PM. All are welcome to come share stories in his honor.
