Vinka Turato

Vinka “Vicky” Turato died at her home in Ocala, FL, surrounded by family, on August 19th.  She was 90 years old. She is survived by her daughter Grace and her partner Ed; her daughter Karen and son-in-law, Sean; her granddaughter Taylor and her sisters Maria and Ivanka. Vicky was born in Punat, Croatia but lived most of her life in Middle Village, NY before moving to Florida just a few years ago.  Vicky and her husband Anthony, were happily married for 51 years and lived in the same neighborhood until Vicky moved to Florida. Vicky loved to cook and sew and especially loved baking traditional Croatian treats (that took forever).  Her funeral will be held at Resurrection Ascension Church in Rego Park, NY at 10am on September 22nd.  The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Vicky’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
