Jim had a deep love for music—all genres. He enjoyed nothing more than relaxing under the carport, listening to his favorite tunes with a few toddies in hand. He often said he was “living his best life.” Jim also cherished reconnecting with his fellow CO friends, swapping stories, and reminiscing about the old days.

He was also a passionate sports fan. Jim proudly rooted for his hometown teams, the Buffalo Sabres and the Buffalo Bills. After moving to Florida, he happily adopted the Florida Gators, following both Gators football and Gators girls softball with enthusiasm. He was also an avid viewer of Fox News, always keeping up with current events.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Anna Gardon, and his two brothers, Robert Gardon and Tom Gardon, all of Cheektowaga, New York.

He is survived by his loving fiancée of 17 years, Cynthia Berry, and three stepchildren: Nicolette (Brad) Fisher of Port Orange, FL; Thom (Maddy) Berry of Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, PA; and Suzie “BooBoo” (Luke Nobles) Berry of Canisteo, NY. Jim also leaves behind eleven beloved grandchildren: TJ, Bradley, JT, Annette, Genevieve, Theron, Lennon, Sydney, Francesca, Phoebe, and Juliette. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Gail Gardon.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family.
